Mary Magdalene/Divine Feminine Study Group

Our next Mary Magdalene/ Divine Feminine study group gathering will be Thursday 3/28, 6:30-8pm at my home, aka, Edenside Sanctuary. If you need the address, please DM. We will have a loose theme for each gathering to act as a springboard for discussion. This time we will talk about the 7 powers of the ego described in Mary's gospel. Theologians have interpreted this list to be the "ingredients" of humanness: darkness, craving, ignorance, excess, forgetting we are not just this body, denying the wisdom of the body, and the compulsion of rage. But unlike some interpretations, Mary's gospel does not describe these aspects of humanity as "sin". Rather, while we want to be mindful when they have taken the wheel and address that, these egoic powers are also the very process by which we learn to return to, exercise and grow our capacity for our ultimate power, the love within. We get to learn how to experience sincere and compassionate self-awareness and forgiveness and extend that same love to others. We will be exploring these teachings through a lens of equality for all people, cognizant of and in resistance to the various forms of oppression that have resulted from the misuse of spiritual text and tradition. This gathering is non-denominational and open to anyone interested in spiritual exploration through a feminist lens, but please RSVP. Adults only. 🙏❤️‍🔥🙏
